Celebrate your hearth
Mon Splendor XII - Celebrate your hearth 2009
"Often in my needleart journeys, I am fortunately blessed with many fine acquaintances. I have traveled the world over sharing my art and love of needlework, with the execution and fine manner of creating these miniature heirlooms in the one over one linen stitch technique. Recently, in France, a very dear friend, Béatrice Orriere, operator of FILS DU TEMPS in Strasbourg, has requested of me to design a creation for this unique heart frame of hers. How charming her French shop is referred to as the "Heart" shop of needlework!
Immediately honored, I soon returned to my studio creating this monochromatic "Celebrate Your Heart". It has truly been the inspiration from our initial conversation. Béatrice has allowed us to duplicate her heart frame, and thus, it is offered in this kit for your fine finishing. My sincere appreciation to Béatrice for the suggestion and support of my design efforts. We both know you will truly enjoy this fine recreation of our dream. I dedicate the time and energy of this entire project to my friend, Béatrice Orriere. Also my graditude to my friend Steve Seilo, for the fine craftsmanship on his authentic reproduction of this quality solid cherry hand-rubbed beauty!
"Celebrate Your Heart", though missioned to direct Béatrice's French stitchers for Saint Valentine's Day, 2005, arrived on the scene a bit delayed. She will premier the design while exhibiting at Maison & Objets ~ Paris March 2005. Most appropriate for her "Heart Shop".
My direction with this design is solely for teaching purposes the remainder of this year. I will present it to both the Vermont and Indiana locations of A Stitcher's Retreat, operated by Randy Turner. "Celebrate Your Heart" will be the optional offering of my classes; the frame will be available separately from your class kit. Details of these events are found in my agenda, on a separate page here. Click on left side of Home Page. Agenda.
France has always been my secret escape, and someday, God willing, it is my journey to live there for a period of time to fully comprehend, study, and dwell in the surrounding that has so captured my heart for a lifetime.
This design will release to the public in 2006. Its offering is a complete kit to include the charming cherry heart frame. Until then, I sincerely hope you will enjoy its creation here on my site. I am proud to present this to my French stitchers, and my students at A Stitcher's Retreat throughout the 2005 year."
